posted this earlier in the garm thread: notice how every selection is a young player or plays on an up-and-coming team full of young players. league marketing. silver always about that paper. no $$ to be made off a 33 yr old journeyman like tucker
Rudy Gobert on the All.defense first team. Capela on none of the teams. Capela destroyed Gobert in the playoff series. Capela turned him into his own David Robinson. Trained well with Hakeem.
don't really understand the outrage over RoCo. he was pretty good defensively, maybe not 1st team though. i'd swap butler and murray out for j-rich and cp3 for sure though. really, the nba needs to have 3 defensive teams just like they have 3 all-nba teams. a lot of guys are getting snubbed. i mean, how do luc and PJ get so few votes? no one voted for clint? wtf is that. Russ, LMA, Bradley, Roberson, Barton, Bledsoe, Davis, Bron, DJ, Dame, Mitchell all getting those votes is pretty comical. it's what happens when you give those votes to biased announcers/trash media members that will vote off reputation. i mean did bradley or roberson even play that many games? bledsoe, dame, russ are probably 3 of the worst PG defenders in the league. barton is basically a glorified corey brewer.
You are right, my mistake. I thought I read Chris Paul. If Capela did not get a vote, that probably means people know he is an impending RFA and want the Rockets to sign him to a reasonable contract.
Here we are tied up in the Western Conference finals against the mighty Warriors yet we only have 1 all star too. I guess we just lucked into the first seed and only losing 2 games in rounds 1 and 2. Haha. This list is one of the reasons the Warriors (or any team from this era) can't be considered the best team ever. Look at the best defenders they are going up against. Pathetic.
Cp3 been a lock for 1st team all defense for like 10 years straight. Now that hes on HOU, he’s not made the all star and all defensive team lol....
I am sure he will take having a chance to win his first ring over some meaningless honor the media dishes out.
Of course he will. It’s just the obvious bias from the media again. Also, why the actual **** is lebron on a defensive team?
Media controversy as always. I'm serious. NBA Media guys are a joke. No one care's about Rockets. Disgrace.
I completely understand how this could end up this way. NBA voters don't have time to follow 25 different players and focus on their defensive quality for a whole season. They barely know how to vote for MVP. What makes you think they'd be accurate voting on defensive players?
People complaining about the awards go look at the defensive real-plus minus leaders... looks like they actually gave it based on performance and not reputation this year. Respect.
