Folks can say what they want, but Cushing at one point was a tremendous LB for the Texans and was the fiery leader we needed at times. The injuries he sustained in back-to-back years were because he was playing hard--Jet OL dirty cut block and Jamal Charles low block crushed him. Roids didn't do that. The INT he made against SD a few years back was one of the most athletic plays I've ever seen an ILB make. This is a football decision and if he goes anywhere it should be as a rush OLB. Good luck BC and thanks for the memories!
He had his moments as a Texan but his career was done before this season. Once he got popped for the 2nd time, they should have released him.
Definitely a nice catch but calling it one of the most athletic plays by a ILB seems like a stretch. It was a pretty standard diving catch regardless of position. The timing of it is what made it special IMHO.
IIRC we saved more money waiting until after the season to release him. But I agree otherwise. Wonder if the Texans would give Derrick Johnson a look as a vet to man the middle. Cole showed a lot of promise but think we could use a vet on top of Mercilus alongside him and Cunningham.
I don’t know his injury history, but not a bad idea to have a former big time vet to mentor the young guys. I was thinking maybe Avery Williamson, as he jumps off the tape for me. But he’s going to get paid big time.
Right, which was smart to do because he was being a little b**** about things and refusing to play. It's awesome that they managed to get something for him on the way out.
About DAMN time...in typical Texan fashion they always do things years after they should've already been done SMH
Considering he was twice caught and suspended for banned substances, he has no business in any ring of honor. Perhaps once could be forgiven as an honest mistake. Twice becomes a pattern and raises suspicion on his entire career.
