I just wanted to take this opportunity to remind everyone of a few things. First, GSW has 4 all stars to our 1, and a fully healthy team. But sit below us in the standings today while we are missing 3 rotation players, one of whom is a starter and one of our best defenders. Sure, GSW might be coasting right now, that's a fair argument, but they also might have had some problems exposed that have been exploited. Who knows? One thing is for sure; they had the best record in the league at the ASB the past 3 seasons, this year the Rockets own that accomplishment (thanks to SCREWSTON on reddit for this info) and nobody should ignore that. As for OKC, does anyone else feel it's unfair they get a pass for losing 6 of their last 10 games because Roberson is out? They still have their 2 all stars, a HOFer in Melo, and Adams. Roberson is probably their 4th or 5th most important player, and yet they still can't win consistently? Ariza is basically our Roberson (4th or 5th most important player, one of our top defenders) but we have the best record in the league right now even though Ariza has been out and Gordon + Nene, two rotation guys, have been missing games lately. I bring this up because my jaw drops when I see people excuse OKC for losing so many games due to a guy who isn't named Westbrook, Paul George, Melo, or Adams, being out. It's just insane, they get such a free pass, it's like everybody understands and are ok with them losing because their 4th most important player is injured. If we lost 6 of our last 10 games, nobody would DREAM to think it's because we lost Trevor Ariza...
Westbrook and(or) Melo were out at least 2 of those 6 loses. but yeah a bit unfair, but it makes it more satisfying when they struggle. I welcome the media contortions if they fall out of the playoffs completely. Thunder only 1.5 games from the lottery.
The whole media bias is a **** show and really doesn’t matter. We are the best team in the NBA TODAY....and for the next 8 days at least...F everyone. Stats and numbers don’t lie. We coming for those prima donna pieces of ****. Let’s get it.
You have to remember the HOF is accumulative. It doesn't only consider your NBA career but also takes into account collegiate and olympic accolades. Melo will be a HoFer due to the fact that he has won gold medals and won a championship in college, PLUS he has hit a good amount of point milestones within his NBA career.
Klay and Draymond are only all-stars because they are on the fanboy bandwagon team. They really have only 2 legit all-star worthy all-stars.
If you took klay and draymond and put them on Eastern Conference teams they’re probably both fringe all stars. There’s no excuse for putting 4 guys from the same team on the all star team in the West, there’s just too much talent on other teams. Spoiler team If they all want to be allstars they can go try to win championships by themselves on other teams. If they all want to play together part of the sacrifice should be that they all can’t be allstars.
Preaching to the choir. We all know CP3 and Capela would be All-Stars in past seasons, if not this season. Warriors are not the same with the additions of Nick Young, Casspi and Jordan Bell. McCaw and Looney are better than previous years; but lack enough improvement to hurt the Rockets in a playoff series. Reminds me of Terrence Jones and DMo. They had so much potential to be great; but ended up below average at best. Teams are figuring out their cutter system/screens away from the ball. Limit those easy baskets & they are not as scary. Thunder. Yes they went from Roberson/ Melo-Westbrook-PG13-Adams as best defensive unit in the NBA to practically the worst defensive unit in the NBA without Roberson. So question? What if they get Tony Allen as a buyout? I think Tony has enough to make up the difference of Roberson. Problem for the Thunder: most teams play iso or post ups the new way; force a switch defensively and then exploit that mismatch. PG vs a Center. Or PF vs a PG. Thunder do it the old fashion way of iso or post ups of PF (Melo) vs opposing PF. Or SF (George) vs opposing SF. Even if the Thunder are forcing more defensive switches and expoiting the mismatches...their 3-point shooting lacks something to be desired. Rockets have enough wing defenders to handle the Thunder. Switching or no switching.
When I saw the title, I thought we would be discussing “GSW & OKC”, which would Rox not picking as an opponent in the playoffs.
