I'll be even more depressed when we win Friday and then lose a Game 7 at home Saturday. It's odd, it seems we've done nothing but lose the last week straight, yet all we need to do is win our two home games to make our way to the WS. So much negativity (rightfully so) but we just need to hold home field and the ship is righted.
They did little-to-nothing the first 2 games... home games. They were being up 2-0. Yankees turned around and handled them easily next 3 games. If 2-3-2 is factor, it's < 5%.
I was just thinking of the Yankees "mystique". The Twins have been beaten by the Yankees in playoffs 3 times in their last three trips and 6 out of 7 times they've been to the playoff this century. When The Twins won the Wild Card Twin Cities sports talk was full of the same doom and gloom about how the Twins can neve beat the Yankees. When the Twins lost in the Wild Card game many seemed almost gleeful in saying "I told you so". It's sad to see Stros nation buying into that. The Yankees are good they have great young talent and some of the best pitching money can buy but they are beatable. I'm going to be really dissapointed if I hear any of the Stros' players buying into Yankee mystique. It's bad enough I hear it Minneapolis to now I have to hear it from Houston.
Stupid much? The regular season, given its length, sets an approximate baseline of expectation. The Astros hit well with RISP for 162 games; they don't wake up one morning in October and suddenly forget how. Doesn't mean they will... but no one should have expected they'd struggle as much as they have. Extracted small samples from the regular season, on the other hand, are meaningless. Case in point, the Astros beat the Yankees 5 of 7 times and are now on the brink of elimination. If you don't understand the difference, I can't help you.
LMAO. You don't even understand what the debate is about. You claim "regular season means nothing", then keep projecting regular season stats into the playoffs. Fact is, ALL games mean something - even just ONE game. It just doesn't *guarantee* future results. Same exact thing I already told your ass last week. Stubborn much?
LOL. I was going to post Clutch City Returns.............because I got a feeling on Thursday that they would comeback. I pulled on an Album I played backing college during the Clutch City 94 and 95. Listen to the entire album while driving....been humming it for last few days. It was my superstition for those comebacks.
What I was going to post: Who is going to be Mad Max in Game 3 against PHX in '94? Clyde in Game 5 against PHX in 95? Kenny Smith in Game 1 against the Magic? Etc........It cannot be just your Star.........someone has to step up. Brian McCann, Lance, Morton...showed up.
I am very sorry to be offensive with this post- but take it as a general message to any of the doubters:
