Any audiophiles here? Thinking of getting a receiver and a pair of tall speakers. Went to besbuy and listened to their Klipch, Polk and Sony set up but I'm not sure I was impressed. Tried the Bose soundtouch 300, I was blown away by the clarity and fullness of sound but it's pricey, 699 for the bar and another 599 for the sub. a pair of wireless sorround speaker is 299. Graci.
Same set-up I have. Bought it on sale at Costco for like $250 (sound bar + wireless sub + 2 rear speakers)
The three brands you listened to generally suck (Klipsch is a legit brand, I just hate their horn-driven sound signature). I have Monitor Audio Gold Series towers, SVS powered sub, Monitor Audio Silver Series center and surround channel speakers, Marantz Receiver and Amp. MA are fairly typical British speakers - fairly neutral with a little forward midrange. I also like Focal but didn't think they were as good for the price.
Go to a true Audio store, You will see a selection that is above what you can find in a department store. I picked a Sony ES 7.2 receiver, in wall Paradigm speakers, Reference Center Channel and Tower speakers with Definitive subs. Sound quality is phenomenal. Best part was most of the equipment with the exception of the in wall speakers were floor models or last years model. So the discounts added up quickly. Much better than what I looked at at Best buy ect.
Two of these are L/R http://www.psbspeakers.com/products/image/Image-T5-Tower Center: http://www.psbspeakers.com/products/image/Image-C4-Centre Onkyo Receiver.
I have 5 SVS Prime Satellite speakers and one SVS SB2000 subwoofer. Denon AVR-S910W receiver. I think it's a pretty good entry-level audiophile setup. Highly recommend SVS for both speakers and subs.
I have an old fashion setup 2 tin cans and some cotton string. hooked up to a Rotel amp with some AR #3 speakers. it is s newfangled thing from 1960s.
LG in my house. Originally paired with a Samsung TV, now on a Hisense. Also have an old Nickelodeon alarm clock that I can listen to music on.
Bose Soundtouch 300, w/ Acoustimass Sub and surround speakers. Overpriced, but it was quick, simple, and sounds great.
I have this too - mine also has wireless rear surround speakers, and blueooth. Best audio purchase I ever made
someone called me over to watch GoT at their house. almost went into rage mode after watching the episode with the built in tv speakers.
I bought a Mirage set. Mirage OMD-5 Front Speakers Mirage Nanosat Surrounds Mirage OMD-C1 Center SVS subwoofer Sony Receiver
I live in Austin, A&B TV on Burnet Road, staff is very knowledgeable and will point out the best deals to help you achieve your goal . Have taken advantage of deals at Georgetown TV & Audio for a blue ray player.
I have a Dolby atmos 5.1.4 set up. Sony core speakers (Left right and center with 2 bookshelf speakers) and Sony subwoofer. Cost around 650 total as they go on sale frequently at Best Buy 4 monoprice back box Kevlar speakers. Cost around 200 or less Marantz 6011-1500 bucks I know these aren't the most high end speakers but they sound really good in my media room. I've had bowers and Wilkins cm series that were 12 years old and yes they probably were more full range but my set up now is just slightly below that with my ears. I'm not really someone who uses the system for music just gaming, tv and movies and totally happy with it. Room acoustics are huge so definitely consider that when determining what you need.
I'm getting some B&W 800 D3's and I'm gonna power them with a couple of Boulder 3050's.............just as soon as I win that lottery.
