Great to see Bev getting recognition, the journey he has had up to this point is incredible. Really hope we're able to keep him amid all of these trade rumors
I don't know what's worse that someone voted for Isaiah Thomas or that two ppl Voted for Eric Gordon.
How could you not be upset losing this guy? Not an NBA player they said. Proved himself overseas and got picked up by us. Doesn't have point guard skills they said. Won the Skills Challenge. Needs to be a better shooter and playmaker to be a starter they said. Starter at point guard for a winning team in the west. Improved 3-point shot, assists, and tear drop runner. He was dreaming (or some sh*t) about 1st team all-Defense Westbrook said. Got 1st team all-defense (finally and long overdue).
I still hope we can keep Pat. I agree with @basketballholic that a Paul, Bev, Harden lineup would be great to watch. All depends on what dominoes need to fall obviously, but Pat is such a warrior.
Because he is not the piece that will win us a Championship. I love Pat but I'm not willing to pay him $14 million a year. Morey found him just like he found Parsons.
Patrick Beverley voted NBA All-Defensive First Team: "I'm so happy. It means so much. I worked my butt off for this. That was one of my goals. It was a lot of hard work.A lot of blood, sweat & tears put into this thing. The hard work is paying off." On when he got news from Rockets CEO Tad Brown: "I started to get real emotional." "To be one of the best defensive players in the world, to have people see that, it's solidified. It's not just talk. There's no better feeling." Beverley is the 4th Rockets player to be voted All-Defensive First Team and first since Scottie Pippen in 1999.
Man, thats dope. I always had him pegged as a high-energy guy but not exactly a lock-down defender. Keep proving us wrong bev!
True, but he found Bev 5 years ago. Not to be too "what have you done for me lately?" but it's a been a minute since Morey has found a diamond in the rough that was able to crack the starting rotation...unless you count Capela, which I don't because he was a first rounder. But who knows, maybe team officials think Onuaku or Harrell will eventually be starter caliber players. I doubt it. I like Dekker but even he is doubtful to be that good one day.
