He doesn't seem to be able to scheme against Big 12 offenses. I don't think he ever comes back to the conference.
Yeah.... this was what I was expecting to happen. The scandal has really hurt the football program. The University should have handled the situation far better from day 1 until today. It will be interesting to see what Baylor does. They may need to dip outside of the major conferences and bring in a stabilizing coach for 3-4 years. A lot of the good coaching options are young assistants, and they are not ideal for this situation.
Sources: Cal's Sonny Dykes to draw focus of Baylor's coaching search Former San Francisco 49ers coach and ex-Baylor All-American linebacker Mike Singletary and Arkansas State's Blake Anderson are also believed to be candidates for the job.
Has Temple in the top 25 while winning the conference. Lost to a good Penn State team by 7 points. Not the sexy name but sounds like a solid hire.
No, he doesn't. He supposedly has recruited well in FL and obviously turned around a bad program. Temple finished the season on a 7 game winning streak while allowing 33 total points. Took Temple to Conf title game in his second season (lost to UH). Let the Herman-Rhule rivalry begin.
No connections to Texas. Only one coach on his Temple staff has connections to Texas. QBs Glenn Thomas From Eastland, TX B.A. from Texas Tech Student assistant 98-01 at Tech
You would think he would assemble his staff with some Texas guys. Sterling Gilbert could be an option I am assuming.
