Yet Another Yao Ming Benefit

    One thing I have noticed in these last 5-6 games or so when Yao has really lit things up is that Francis's rebounding seems to be down. This is directly tied to Ming, I believe. With Ming getting plenty of boards, Steve doesn't have to bang inside with the big boys and risk injury. Also, with Ming getting many more offensive touches than our center last season, Francis is having to drive to the lane less, and when he does drive the lane, it is a little more open because of Ming. This means Francis is taking MUCH less punishment in the paint, and that is a relief because the way Steve has played in his first 3 seasons, it seemed he was destined for a short career. So, not only does Ming allow us better inside presence on defense AND offense, but he is helping preserve our talented guards. :D
