Anyone who's watched Jaws IV or Orca knows that revenge is highly prevalent in the animal world.

Yeah because you hear of stingray attacks all the time and probably why they have "Swim with the stingrays" all over the caribbean. It was a fluke man. Stingrays don't generally hurt people.

I know that but maybe not everyone does.

Either way, if you're out swimming right now and a stingray comes close to you, you're telling me you won't be scared?

"Knowing" that something won't hurt you is how he got killed in the first place.

Yes, out of fear, these nimrods are going into the ocean, pulling the stingrays out of the water, mutilating them, and leaving the mutilated stingrays out on the beach

yea, so let's go swimming in the water where they live b/c it's our human right to invade their territory. string ray be damned, my safety is more important.

And if they're doing it for revenge, are they leaving the bodies on the beach as a sign to other stingrays?

I'm not saying it isn't possible or likely. I'm just saying that if I'm in the water and a stingray comes close to me and I feel threatened, I'm not going to let it be "knowing" that most stingrays don't attack.

maybe the stingrays themselves drifted onto the beach, and the oxygen in the air caused a reaction to where their bodies bursts into gorey piles of sea flesh?

    "Invade their territory?"

So humans can no longer enter the ocean because stingrays live there?

And yes, human safety is more important than stingray safety. I'm not saying they should go out into the water to kill them because that's not increasing human safety. I'm saying that if a stingray comes close to someone in the water and that person kills the stingray out of fear, I have no problem with that.

Stingray & skate wings are used by shady seafood restaurants as "scallops". They basically take a cookie cutter type thing & cut out circular pieces. The grain of the flesh runs horizontally, though, unlike true scallops. No idea what it tastes like.

yes, it is invading their territory. it's where they live. would you like me to just walk into your home?
sure, you can go in the ocean. but if you cared about your safety so much, why are you going in there anyways if you fear sting rays that could possibly kill you?

Using that logic, you can't justify self defense in an area that isn't your home.
