WTB: Cingular-compatible cell phone

    The LCD on my current phone is cracked, which makes calling a pain. I'm not due for an upgrade until May 2008, and I'm not going to pay retail for a new phone.

    If anyone is interested in selling a cell-phone (GSM) that's compatible with Cingular or unlocked, let me know what you have.

    Same thing happened to me, I had insurance and apparently you are only allowed 2 phones per year. Anyways, I wish I could help you.

    How soon are you looking to get the phone? I may be switching to Verizon soon (depending on employee prices :D), and i would probably be getting rid of my month old Razr.

    Thanks for the replies.

    I'm looking for something cheap ($100 and under) and simple - something that lets me make calls. I don't need any other bells and whistles (i.e camera, mp3 player, etc). The sooner the better, as my cell is my only personal phone.

    lokiwiz wont work on it due to the firmware being to new??? lol

    i gave it to my brother, and hes trying to get it unlocked.

    Have you looked into replacing the LCD? I don't know which phone you have, so it may be too difficult or too expensive, but with my old phone, I replaced my screen twice. It was a Nokia -- bought a new screen on ebay and then replaced it -- VERY easy to do.

    if you go on slickdeals.net and check the forum part there is a deal for pay as you go razor's for 99 bucks. You sign up for the cheapest plan and you just stick the cingular Sim card in.

    This si what I have read, I have not tried it but everyone there has.,

    I have 2 Sony Ericsson z520a's
    and a Moto RAZR V3 (silver)

    $100 on each z520a, o.b.o.

    $75 on the V3

    will list on ebay as a buy it now if anyone is interested...

    Both Cingular btw...

    Will throw in CD and cable with V3 for extra $20.
