    The use of the word "peace" was taken to be an indirect reference to Chirac's stance against the US intervention in Iraq, which Obama had also opposed.

    As popular as Obama is in Europe, do you think there's any chance the French will recal Sarkozy and re-elect Chirac to save face for Obama? Because that would be awesome!

    wow, he wrote a letter to a former head of state as a courtesy - you're going to have to make your lie more expansive and obvious here if you hope to make any hay out of this thread.
