    I'd like to attend this it begins today ends Saturday I believe. My question is with the $7 ticket do you have access to eat any BBQ you want or just the one plate at the main tent?

    Nope. The BBQ cook-off is by invite only or unless if you're a member of a cooking-team.

    That $7 gets into the carnival/cook-off area, but not in a tent.

    This will be seventh year coming and it gets better every year. Yee-Haw!

    Oh, you get BBQ in that main public tent, but not access to a private tent.

    No, you don't get to taste all of the entries. The private tents submit their signature meats for the judges to taste.

    ryan's right. $7 to get into the even but to get into a tent you have to have an invite...even then you will more than likely have to stand in line to wait and get it, depening on which tent you go to.

    Last year we had friends who are members of turbine, but still had to wait in line an hour. I was pissed but once we got in we had a great night.

    I'm hoping i can make it since i'm doing the Rodeo run 10k earlier that day.

    I went this past saturday, like always, it was a blast. Apparently it was a record, ~219k people. Just amazing. The one bad thing was I didnt eat until a bit later so the meat was a tad try. It was still a great flavor...the tent we we were in got runner up brisket and top 10 chicken. Not too bad.

    i was there freezing my ass off on Friday but damn, that brisket and fried fish we had was freakin' awesome!
