In my career I have worked at several Companies
with different manager and management Styles

What do you consider GOOD Management?

I know Bad Management -[MICROMANAGEMENT UURGG]
    But
What do you look at with your managers and the management

I seens alot of bad. . . and alot of not so bad
but I don't think I have seen management that that just made me say
MAN, That is a great Manager. . or Great Management

I generally put it terms of Effectiveness, Consideration of Employees and Rapport/personality

Good management to me is this:
1.) They tell you what they need
2.) They tell you when they need it
3.) They make sure you have the tools and resources to do what they ask
4.) They tell you to let them know if you need them
5.) They assume "no news is good news" and leave you alone to do your work.

I have had the privilage of working for 1 manager like this in my carreer.

Just stay out of my hair and quit telling me things that I already know. Trust your people to do the right thing without constantly bugging them about it.

Just leave me alone so I can get some work done.

The best managers let their people do their jobs and make sure they have the tools to do them.

They should set goals and expectations and stick to them, even if it means being "late" on a delivery.

They should manage expectations with other groups within the organization, and they should support their people with their decisions.

Also...they should be fair when evaluating talent and people.

    Thanks . . . I appreciate it.
I read the One Minute Manager
    and it says similar things

Most Managers seem to treat employees with distrust
    or disdain in some instances

they seem to prefer FEAR AND INTIMIDATION
    over Trust and cooperation
