At the 1:50 mark of this Youtube clip there's another woman making a similiar call.

Are there some car models that have the lock inside of the door so it's not protruding when locked? How would one get out of those situations?

 

Like the child lock? I can't think of any type of lock that one couldn't manually lock or unlock.

 

the ones that have the look that pushes all the way down into the door.. if you pull on the door handle, they automatically push up. It's locked from the outside, but not from the inside with those modes

 

Interesting, glad that they have it like that. I was thinking that there were some cars that don't have a protruding lock, I remember seeing them but all the cars I drive have a protruding lock, so I wasn't sure how those other cars would handle getting locked in with no electricity.
