Will a legit copy of Windows 7 enterprise run on my home PC if it is never connected to the network that purchased the license?

I had Home versions are one time use. Was curious how the enterprise edition works.

Are there any drawbacks to the enterprise edition?

I'm running it. I just had to connect to the VPN and then enter the suffix on the computer name. After it verified the license, I took the suffix off. (you don't have to join it to the domain)

It's entirely possible that the guys who handle the license server didn't set it up right, which allowed me to fudge it. My place is rife with that kind of thing.

From what I understand, Enterprise is the best version you can get.

If it's legitimate, doesn't that mean it belongs to you?

No you said it was a legit copy. If it is legit, which it obviously is not, it would belong to you.

I just sent a link of this thread to a friend of mine that works in the piracy enforcement division with Microsoft. You should be contacted soon.
