    Why do MLB managers wear uniforms? Do they wear a cup too?

    It's kina silly when you think about it. I don't want to see Dom Capers wearing a helmet and pads this weekend.

    It's because managers used to play the game also. So wearing the uniforms sort of stuck around when they stopped playing.

    Remember a couple of years ago when a coach for San Diego was pelted with ice balls in NY? I'll bet he wished he had been wearing a helmet.

    Baseball is the only sport where the coaches are allowed on the field of play. That might have something to do with it.
