no....uh not really, but maybe, maybe no that this Griffin really has grown to reports of 6'11'' and put on 15 to 20 pounds as confirmed.

Heck, even Jeff has stated that his height is now probably 6'11''

skinny as a beanpole to play the 4/5...?

Here is where it gets interesting...break out and dust the ole video tapes of a young Hakeem when he first started...Look at him, just swatting away shots like a machine...Look at him leap! Look at him board!...er,..uh, wait a sec. man he really looks skinny, no?

Hakeem, er Akeem was a "beanpole"...no?

It is true...so make the height comparison (Heck, Griffin may end up taller.)...check the weight at their respective ages..similar, no? yes.

Griffin = Hakeem?!...what you talking about?

I ain't really suggesting griffin will be Hakeem, but what I'm saying is that so many posters seem to discount Griffin playing some at the 5 let alone the 4 (probably his true position)...

    why?

yes why? why not? why can't Griffin be successful at the 4? Why can't he spell a few minutes at the 5?

Don't look now but Twin Towers 2...could very well be starting. Perhaps this episode will be even better.

In a sense I agree with you, but he is no Hakeem or Akeem for that matter he is a different type of player and I think that he is a perimeter post hybrid if not exclusively a perimeter player. And remember that Hakeem started out as an inside player. I think that he will be comparable to Kevin Garnett but a tad heavier which is good. And I do not agree with him playing the 5 it doesn't suit him although it would be nice to have his offense at that position, what's that we will, Ming. Oh never mind we don't need him to play 5 and don't forget about Cato. Although many people do not like him I think that it is because of his salary, and he doesn't get involved enough remember he has that little jumper which he never got a chance to showcase with the Rox. And do you remember that 45 win season he had that stretch where he was a monster on the glass and was dunking on everyone. Trust me EG does not need to play the center spot.

i wasn't around during Twin Towers number 1. But from what i've heard from my dad, they seem a lot alike.

    7-4 Ralph Sampson
    7' Akeem Olajuwon

    7-5 1/2 Yao Ming
    7' Eddie Griffin

Sampson was picked one year before Akeem, just like how Eddie was selected one year before (hopefully) Yao Ming.

if eddie came to us as a 6'11" 240lb center instead of a 6'9" 215lb sf, we would not have any problems with him at the 5. with his rebounding and shot blocking skills he can play center. i've heard the yao-sampson comparison and it seems like a good one. lets hope that this time he doesnt blow his knee out in only 3 seasons.

dont forget that this time our twin towers will have thebest backcourt in the league maturing with them.

Yep...I didn't mention the great backcourt, smoothie, but you hit it.

That is why I am getting excited about the possibilities...TT2 & co. bringing home the trophy!...that would be nice!

Imagine Griffin trying to guard Ming. That's all you need to know.
