I know that this insn't a good Friday night drunk topic but i just thought of posting this here. I am looking on ebay for a new ski jacket for an upcoming trip but i really dont know what to look for. None of my friends really know anything either. What I was wondering is what brands should i be looking at? I go about once a year and would like a high quality one that will last. So far i am looking at descente and obermeyer. I have pretty much ruled out north face because of price and high resale value. What else should i be looking at?

I will greatly appreciate any suggestions

    Columbia ski wear is fantastic.

North Face are decent, but are not as useful as Columbia ski wear.

Oshman's has a wide variety of Columbia ski wear that you can actually try on, rather than internet, where you can probably get a better deal.

    Columbia's my choice!

I've never had a jacket that has made me a better or worse skier. I don't think you can go wrong. Just buy colors you like, long johns will take care of the warmth. Single layer on the socks though, too many layers can cause frost bite.

I prefer powder jackets over ski jackets.
