Where is the inside outside Game? Why no set plays for Yao Ming?

It seems like Yao Ming was not realy in the Game tonight! Rudy needs to set up some plays for him , he can pass out to the open shooter,or even attempt to score! I think its about time the Club brings in a big mans Coach, Yao Ming needs basic NBA Coaching!
All this perimeter Game is not going anywhere it would behove Rudy to think back to past years and bring back the inside/outside Game, to open up the game a little more! What do you think?

I think that would be good, but Ming needs some more muscle on him before he can start really battling in the post. Jerome James had a really good game against Ming.

The few plays that are set for Ming, don't really pan out too well so far. Why set more plays for him? If by setting more plays for him he gets eat alive even more it could demoralize him, and really hurt his chances at improvement.

If Ming gets more comfortable out there, I don't doubt that more plays will go through Ming, but right now he hasn't shown that he can handle it.

This is still basically training camp for the rookie. He missed the camp this summer, and is definitely still adjusting to the league, and playing very timidly. I don't think he's confident yet and setting him up for more failure probably isn't the best way to build that confidence.

Ming is looking like a project. He is getting beaten by journeymen players, and beaten pretty handily.

It is clear that he is still adjusting to the play, and his team.

Give him time...he should be coming around AFTER the all star break.

We setup a ton of plays for Eddie Griffin and Rudy put up with horrible shooting by Eddie in the first two games. And he kept going to him. We go to Cuttino even when he's cold like tonight, 5-15 early, and let him brick until the cows go home. It shouldn't be any different for any of these other supposedly great offensive players or we shouldn't have signed them (Rice, Yao, Nachbar).

Those guys aren't rookies, and don't have as big of an adjustment to make. Ming doesn't look like he's ready to handle a bigger responsibility right now. Better to give him time to learn the game in the NBA.

    There's no need to rush.

He needs more shot attempts. He'll never adjust to the game if he only takes <3 shots a game.

With his skills, he needs to be an offensive focus. But he'll never develop into that if you don't give him some shot attempts. So what if he is 0-10. Let me freakin' shoot.

Rookie, schmookie. ;) If we're going to be a .500 team, I'd prefer for our rookies to get better, cause we ain't getting far in the playoffs with a one or two man game if one of those two isn't Shaq or Duncan.

dd is right. ming is not ready to have the offense run through him. we can tell by flashes that eventually he's going to be incredible but it won't be overnight. right now the best option and becoming one of the best in the league is steve.

It's going to be a real massacre when Ming hits his rookie wall. People are really going to lose it.

    Sane,

I think Ming is hitting it right now....he has been playing for 2 years straight and is just trying to FIT in right now.

Once he gets his feet wet, he will come around.
