Hooray! The Spurs will not win 59 games this year. Take that! For all practical purposes, I have won the bet. I know break even is 58 wins, but that means they'd have to go 9-0, and that won't happen. I didn't even break a sweat during that win streak cause I say the schedule and knew it had to end soon.

So, do you want to pay now or later when that money doubles because the Spurs won't make it to the championship.

You know Duncan was fouled on that last attempt.

Regardless, the Spurs struggled for too long in the middle of the season. I still think they have a better chance in the playoffs than the Mavs or Kings, but time will tell on that. Assuming the Spurs lose another game, send me an email, and I'll pay. Though if you'd still like to bet on the Spurs in the playoffs (I don't remember the specifics of anything said on the postseason), I'm definitely interested.

BTW, anyone else think it was fitting that Tony "Jesus" Parker had his career game on Easter?

Shaq didn't touch the ball, if you watch the replay closely. He got all of Duncan's hand and wrist. I'll admit that Duncan fouled Kobe on the reverse layup, but I thought that the Malik Rose foul neutralized that. I can see why the officials called it-- Fisher did a phenomenal job flopping, but I was surprised to see that call made at the end of a close game, especially after letting contact go on the other end.

In retrospect, the game should've never come down to that, though. The Spurs had control of this game, until a couple of poor decisions. First, they left Horry and Fisher wide open for three huge 3's in the fourth quarter that kept the Lakers in the game. Second, they took Tony Parker out of the game in the final minutes. As much as we may joke about him, he was playing a phenomenal game yesterday. He was shooting well from the perimeter, and penetrating past both Fisher and Hunter. The Spurs offense began to fall apart when Antonio Daniels was put in as the point. (remember Terry Porter is on the IR)

LOS ANGELES -- Shaquille O'Neal claimed he got all ball. Maybe.

The San Antonio Spurs said no way. And photographs of Sunday's biggest play seemed to back them up.

Nevertheless, O'Neal got credit for blocking Tim Duncan's jumper from near the foul line with about seven seconds remaining in the Los Angeles Lakers' 96-95 victory over the Spurs.

Derek Fisher made two free throws with 15.9 seconds left to give the Lakers their only lead of the second half, and the Spurs were attempting to take the lead back when O'Neal bellied up on Duncan.

"I turned and shot, he got me on the wrist, and no foul was called," Duncan said.

Duncan, who had 26 points, 11 rebounds and eight assists -- but was only 1-of-9 in the fourth quarter -- clapped his hands, thinking a foul was going to be called as his attempt fell well short of the basket.

And several of his teammates seemed to slow down while the Lakers got the ball to the other end of the court in running out the clock.

"A tough no-call," Spurs forward Danny Ferry said. "It definitely affected the outcome. It looked like he fouled him to me."

Teammates David Robinson and Steve Smith said much the same thing.

"It doesn't matter," Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said. "The call wasn't made, the game's over. It's irrelevant what I thought. You have to make your own conclusions."

O'Neal, who had 24 points, nine rebounds and five blocked shots, had no trouble doing just that.

"That was all ball," he said. "Even if it wasn't all ball, they owe me that call. There was no foul. I've been getting beat up for 10 years, I've only complained twice in that time. If they don't like it, too bad."

Several photographs indicated O'Neal's hand came in contact with Duncan's wrist, but it was unclear whether he touched the ball.

"If that's a foul, I get fouled every shot," said Kobe Bryant, who led the Lakers with 31 points and nine rebounds. "From where I was standing, it looked like a good block."

The win was the 17th in 22 games for the Lakers (52-21), who remained 1 1/2 games behind Sacramento for the NBA's best record. The Lakers have nine games remaining and the Kings (53-19) have 10.

The Spurs (49-24) lost their third straight, all on the road, following an NBA season-high 13-game winning streak. One of those 13 wins was a 108-90 stomping of the Lakers in San Antonio on March 20.

Robert Horry had a season-high 23 points, along with eight rebounds and four assists for the Lakers.

The playoff bet was if the Spurs make the conference finals, it is break even. If they fall short, I win $20 more. If they make the NBA finals or better, I pay you $20 (or I guess no money is transacted since you will probably lose the regular season bet). You cool with that, The Cat? And it was nice to see a post from you again.

I didn't win....but neither did you.

I guess it's up to the playoff bet now. Seattle maybe, but probably not. LA 2nd round...no chance...so it looks like $20 will make it my way....later than expected though.
