    Oct. 10 — Preseason begins.

    Oct. 13 — Basketball Hall of Fame Enshrinement, Springfield, Mass.

    Oct. 23-24 — Board of Governors meeting, New York.

    Oct. 27 — Last day of exhibition games.

    Oct. 30 — Rosters set for opening day, 6 p.m. EST.

    Oct. 31 — 2000-01 regular season begins.
