What's going on with Francis

Here’s my take on what’s going on with Francis.

I think his pride is hurt. The Rockets tried to make him part of the whole draft process sending him down to New jersey for the Lottery. And I am certain that they listened to him when they were discussing which direction the Rockets would go with the #1 overall pick, but when it became clear that Rudy and CD were not in sync with his opinion, namely lets get Odom, then he got pissed. It all went to his head and somehow he thought he was bigger than the organization and they better listen to him or else.

But that’s okay. I mean he wants to win, but he also wants to do it with style and fanfare and I believe he thinks our best shot at doing that is with Odom. Not some tall asian kid from some place he knows nothing about. But that is still not such a terrible thing. So he threw a little temper tantrum. So what! He is young and that’s just a sign of immaturity. Not much unlike TroyBaros and his silly posts. But that comes with the territory of being young. I can accept that as just the way it is with most youth. It’s hard to keep your egos in check and it’s almost impossible when people around you keep telling you how great you are.

But now it’s time for Francis to get a reality check. He had his little tantrum and it’s time for him to get over it. He needs to see that the Rockets are going to do what's best for the Rockets and not necessarily what’s best for Stevie Francis. Any other fantasy that Francis may have about that is just that, fantasy.

Still, I believe Francis will come around. I think he will see that this is a business, but in spite of that Houston is a great city for an athlete to live in and the Rockets organization is one of the finest in the NBA. I think when it is all said and done Francis will concede a little pride and embrace Ming.

Now that being said if he doesn’t well then lets just say remember Pippen. If he doesn’t then one day he’ll be playing with Griffin in some charity golf tournament saying how he misses those Rocket days and how he wishes he would have shutup instead of forcing a trade because if he had he might also be wearing 5 rings instead of playing on the lottery bound wizards.

Now here's my letter to Stevie just in case he's lurking:

    Dear Stevie,

I 'm your biggest fan. And because of that I hope you wise up. Stevie you are a talented basketball player who can become even better by honing your skills and thinking team first. The skies the limit. But the minute you think you are bigger than the team... well let's just say don't let the door hit your a$$ on the way out.

I know you want to win. And for that I applaud you. But it doesn't qualify you to make decisions for the Rockets. You don't know what's best for the Rockets. I sincerely hope you' smarten up enough to figure out what’s best for you, cause if you don't Stevie, I'll rip all your posters off the wall.

I love you Stevie... We coulda been together… Think about it, you ruined it now... I hope you can’t sleep and you dream about it... and when you dream I hope you can’t sleep and you scream about it... I hope your conscious eats at you and you can't breathe without me.

Well gotta go. I'm almost at the bridge now...

    This is Stan,
    Your Biggest Fan

Okay I digressed but I'm back!

There is no factual evidence that he is pissed at the Rockets

old man rock - thanks for a good level-headed post. right now, i'm very dissapointed in steve but i won't turn to bashing him like many, many other posters. this is a taking a huge risk in his future and the rockets future and he has all the right to disagree. my hope and what i think will happen is that playing with ming will completely turn him around. but what alot of people don't realize is that if there is no clutch bbs, we have no idea about this situation. francis has kept practically silent about this towards the media and that's atleast a positive. remember trading for clyde? his teammates didn't exactly offer him a group hug. of course winning cured all that, as it does everything. i see a similar situation here.

if ming plays up to par and steve still b****es(in which case it's more than basketball), then we let him walk even if it knocks us back, which it will. but, imo this is purely a basketball thing and like i said ming can change steve's mind fast.

What if Steve's a/c broke down causing his plans with Beyonce to be ruined, and then Clutch's source just caught him at a bad time:D

Old Man Rock, you are wise and we should nickname you Yoda, even though You are not 800 yrs old, nor do I know if you are anywhere near being at that age where you are considered old. Either way, more people here should have levelheaded and well thought out posts like you instead of trying to start a witch hunt.
