As bad a thought as it might seem, the world would be a much better place if Israel just never existed. They are bringing us down with them. We're too stupid to disagree with anything they do. I wish we didn't have to be involved in that mess. I would choose to look away like everyone else. But, NOooo......we are the superpower....we have all the answers. We can just snap our fingers and bring peace to the ME.

This will never end. I don't see a future without many more wars. Nostradamus was probably right about the Arab nuke and end-of-the-world scenario. He just got the year wrong. It's in our nature to destroy ourselves.

Yeah, they invented communism (N Korea) and Islamic fundamentalism (isn't that a kicker, don't just get blamed for the Zionist fanatics, but also their enemys')

On this, we may have some agreement. I wish we would pressure Israel more, but Arafat doesn't provide much assistance. Regardless, the settlements should just stop. I think a potentially helpful timing would be NOW. Pressure Israel to stop the settlements NOW. Show the Muslim world that we are not anti-Muslim, and willing to stand up for Palestinian rights. It's the morally right thing to do, and could the timing could take the wind out of some of the potential backlash of a war with Iraq.

 

So using the reasoning that we're attacking Iraq before they reach nuclear stage like NK then we can expect us to attack Iran next since they're on the State Department's list of states supporting terrorism.

All countries have to do to avoid being attacked, is root out state sponsored terrorist camps.

Bush said right after 9-11 that any government that is harboring terrorists is in jeapordy.

Seems pretty simple to me....root out terrorism and they are fine.

I think that is the plan, at least reimburse the cost of the war with Iraqi oil.

diplomacy is still extremely possible with iran too. iraq diplomacy has failed and in north korea we are attempting diplomacy but it is failing.

So you support an invasion of Iran? You find a lot of things pretty simple that have depth and complexity. How in your estimation would an invasion of Iraq followed by invasion of Iran fly over in the Muslim world and the international community?

Timing, you are missing the point.

You see, it is very simple. If we flex our muscle enough, we can actually control the actions of the entire world. It's true! Sure there are billions of individual's on this planet, and sure many of them will hate us if we keep launching pre-emptive wars, but, in time, we will honestly be able to root out each and every one of the haters before they can blow themselves up on a crowded street. With enough planning and funding, no terrorist will be able to do so much as build a pipe-bomb in his basement without us knowing about it and capturing him before he evens warms up his soldering iron! Think that sounds impossible? Harrumph. You probably thought we couldn't put humans on the moon.

I didn't say it was only if Israel didn't exist the world would be a better place. I'm sure a lot of others fit the mold. The USA might as well fit that mold because of the Indians....good point. I agree with that. It's all in the perspective and who holds it.

As far as supporting discussion via points, I think the board here has discussed everything related to these issues in depth already. I'm not really looking to start another in-depth discussion on this topic. It's a waste of everyone's time.

 

The mullahcracy in Iran is doomed, it's just a matter of time. Something like 65% of the population is under the age of 30, and they tend strongly toward a pro-western democratic government. Having a nascent democracy next door is only going to help the situation.
