Seems in the last several games JVG has decided to scrap previous rotation and play starters longer. Tonight against SAC it looks to have worn our guys down a bit. Anybody know why?

I have to say I am dissapointed in JVG's coaching decisions lately. Steve basically played the entire game tonight, that's going to take it's toll and I think it already has.

There are people on the bench that need to play. Padgett earns his minutes every second he is on the floor, and yet won't play for games. JVG talked about surrounding Steve and Yao w/ smart, shooters, when basically he is talking about JJ. Pike went cold and he is getting colder every game he doesn't play.

JVG's rotation is so horrible and it's taking it's toll right now.

I agree, why is Padget not in there?

In a game like tonight, he would stretch the defense and give Yao more room to work on the block.

JVG is not winning any fans around here either.

Steve was running on fumes tonight as well as against the Heat. He shot 3-17 tonight, and was forced to play 44 minutes!

To his credit, he racked up 13 assists and seemed very reluctant to shoot, but Sac was leaving him so wide open that he was practically forced to on quite a few occasions.

JVG needs to be quicker bringing out the reserves when the offense stalls like it did tonight. At a very minimum he should have brought out Padgett earlier when Cato started imploding and Mo lost his touch. Mark Jackson, even though he wasn't having a good game, should have also been in their to relieve Steve during the game so he could have stood a chance later.

Steve needs a change of pace so he can get out of this horrible slump. No matter what you think Steve's potential is, he is not playing up to it right now.

Well I think it's the old school philosophy of the 8 men rotation. A lot of the more respected coaches do this and especially when it's the playoff time. But it's only feburary, we have a big man with fatigue problems and point guard that needs any help he can get right about now (including rests), let those guys rest a little. I guess Jeff treated this game like it was a playoff game we couldn't come through. Though it does worry me if/when we do get in the playoffs because the guys have to learn to play with a 8 man rotation.
