The band WEEZER seems to be employing a tactic that has become scarce in music today -- they are actually making a lot of records. It seems like most bands today put out something once every few years. Back in the 70s, bands would put an album out every year! Sometimes more than one in a year! Weezer came out with an album last year, and they've got another one coming out next month! To top it off, they've got another one almost finished, and it's to be released possibly next February! All hail Weezer -- actually making music! What a concept! Hopefully the next one is as good as the last one.
Well yeah it's nice that they're making music, but I'm not sure Weezer's a good example that every other band should follow. It took them 5 years to put out their 3rd album, which is only 40 minutes long in it's entirety. That was the one downer from the green album, way too short... I still love Weezer though...
Band Geek -- weren't they on hiatus during that lull though? Seems like when they came back people were billing it sorta like a reunion.
Didn't the bass player split to form The Rentals, and Cuomo "came bck" from the brink of insanity. =w=
You know what's cool, is that in the liner notes of their debut album, there's a picture of someone's room, and on the wall is a poster of Quiet Riot.
I imagine during the 5 years, some of the members branched off to side projects...so yeah I guess it was a reunion of sorts... It also felt like more than 5 years because Pinkerton was so different compared to the other cd's...
Is the green album even 40 minutes long? Whatever... still more minutes of quality music than most bands put out .
I thought it was like 28 minutes. I actually prefer shorter songs/albums -- short and sugary sweet. Listening to a Tool CD is like picking up a novel.
