My mother is sick in Arizona and I bought a web cam so that we can see each other and conference with other family members.

Does anyone know of the best way to form some kind of a group online where just my family can view the web cams. I would prefer one that has the best frames/sec.

I don't know if any of you have web cams or think that they are worth the time, but maybe there is a service out there that is worthwile.

I was going to recommend these guys http://www.spotlife.com/ but apparently they are out of business...

Yahoo Instant Messanger has the ability to transmit webcam images and video.

You can also purchase a domain and set up a webcam page and use this software: http://www.webcamfirst.com it's free and pretty easy to use. You will need some basic HTML skills.

MSN Instant messenger has a webcam feature. I have never used it though. I'm sure someone on here has and can give you more info on it.

MSN is the best one, but you can only use video conference if you and your mom both have windows xp

MSN is really the best one I've used; truly amazing quality considering I have a 'free after rebate' webcam.

If you use MSN Messenger, make sure you both have the latest version and that you do the videoconference button, not video then audio. That's how it used to work out, but it was horrible quality, so they added the videoconference feature and it's great.

AIM's picture quality was awful. I want to try another service though.

I will try MSN. My brother and I are buying her a new computer so she will have XP. We are flying there next week to set it up.

Thank you so much for the advice. I always know where to turn to.

I should mention that broadband is used on both computers, which is a given for the quality and fps.
