Does anyone know a way to regain lost vocal chords? I can go deep and and high but there's a huge gap in the middle.

Also does anybody have any singing tips? Any songs that make you sing better if you practice it? Thanks.

Never drink cold water while you are singing. Room temperature or warm is much better for your voice.

Actually hot tea is the best...for me anyway.

So why do I keep drinking beer at gigs????:D

McGrady...you may want to go to a vocal coach and take a couple of lessons to see if the coach can get you nback to that mid-range.

I love singing. As long as I can stay in my range* vocally, I can really belt it out with the best of 'em!

*one octave, low D to middle D...

Has your mid range been always been "missing"? If so, mid-range notes might just be out of your natural range. You're capable of hitting high notes because you're going into falsetto without knowing it. I've known some people that can't hit mid-range notes because their falsetto and natural ranges don't overlap. As a result, you get sort of a cracking voice sound when you're trying to sing notes in between.

I agree that finding a vocal coach will be good if you're really committed to expanding your range. Otherwise, I wouldn't really worry too much about it.

Alcohol can loosen your vocal chords, allowing for wider vocal ranges.

    Ask Doug Supernaw.

Really? I thought that was just a myth..

I drink cold water while singing, occassionally... and have sung while having cold air fanned directly at me by strong fan..

Never gave me any trouble going bass-baritone, baritone, tenor and counter tenor..

though i can't seem to reach operatic power melodics without the slight crack in my voice, and nor can i sustain it as long as i'd like to...

i'd contribute that more to never having a vocal coach than drinking cold water... Dunno.
