I'm pretty familiar w/ Vancouver; I've been there numerous times over the years and even stayed for 6 weeks straight once. Love the place and I think I can get around like a local. But I've only been to Victoria once for a day trip. Can anyone give me info on what to do and see there? I can also check out other stuff on Vancouver Island if it's not too far away. I will be back there for one week this fall and at first glance doesn't seem like much to do? I hope I'm wrong. All I know is Steve Nash, Pamela Anderson and Nelly Furtado are from the area.
Victoria is a pretty quiet place. It's the kind of place you'd take your parents to. Buchert Gardens, just outside the city is worth the trip Whale Watching - if you're into watching orca pods, they're all over, so might be worth your time Museum - you could probably kill a couple of hours here too Honestly, it's a small town, and pretty quiet. I wouldn't recommend spending more than a day. I liked the ferry ride from Vancouver better than Victoria itself.
I'm a huge fan of Vancouver, but nothing impressed me about Victoria. It was pretty boring to be honest. The more remote parts of Vancouver Island might be work checking out, though.
Damn that's what I was worried about. The one day I went there was w/out a car. I thought we could just hang out 'downtown' and probably didn't need one. I was ready to leave after a few hours.
