That scared the crap out of me. I was afraid that it was going to get my toes at the foot of the bed at night.
So what's the premise of the show? I know it's a remake of an original series, but I never watched it. Is this going to be an exact remake, or are they going to change the series up a little bit? I know it's a story about aliens coming down to Earth (at least based on the trailers I've seen on TV), but that's about all I've gathered. I know I can easily look this info up, but what's the point of being a member of a BBS if you can't have a conversation about this stuff, right??
I don't know if they are going to do a direct remake. I'm sure they are changing things to reflect modern times. The leader of the aliens was a lady back in the day, so that seems to have not changed.
And if you plan on watching, DO NOT click my spoiler. That was the one scene that stuck with you, plus it gives a lot away about the show.
from wiki Spoiler Giant spaceships appear over all major cities of the world, and Anna, the beautiful and charismatic leader of the extra-terrestrial "Visitors," claims to come in peace. As a small number of humans begin to doubt the sincerity of the seemingly benevolent Visitors, FBI counter-terrorism agent[5] Erica Evans discovers that the aliens have spent decades infiltrating human governments and businesses, and are now in the final stages of their plan to take over the planet. Erica joins the resistance movement, which includes Ryan, a Visitor sleeper agent who wants to save humanity. However, the aliens have won favor among the people of Earth by curing a variety of diseases, and have recruited Earth's youth — including Erica's son — to serve them unknowingly as spies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V_(2009_TV_series)
My understanding is that the tone of the show is going to be very different - much more psychological and personal than the first, which was kind of an action show about an underground resistance movement.
I know it's not original but I'm glad it's not another ER, CSI, BH90210 clone. I'm looking forward to it, with today's special effects, it should be good.
I loved the original, I'm not sure if I want to have my childhood fond memories of it tarnished by new crap
Sweet. I'm definitely going to watch this show. I notice Juliet from Lost and Tom from 4400 are starring, and I guess the 4400 producer is running the show. That's both a good and a bad thing. 4400 started off great, and then got REALLY stupid.
I might watch cause the blonde chick from "Lost" is in it. Surely, she wouldn't be in it if it were bad. Nah.
I'm going to watch it but I'm not expecting much. After watching the trailers some of the acting in them seemed rather forced. The plot is a tried and true one the execution might not be so good.
Also from wikipedia: "E! Online rated the pilot episode "on a scale of 1 to 10, we give it an 11. V is the best pilot we've seen in, well, forever." [8] The website Seat42F rated the pilot episode an A+, applauding its cast and effects and naming it one of the best pilots in years.[9] USA Today's Robert Bianco put V on his list of the top ten new shows, stating that the remake is well-made and "quickly establishes its own identity."[10] King Features' entertainment reporter Cindy Elavsky calls V: "the best new show on television, by far. The special effects are feature-film quality; the writing is intelligent and time-relevant; and the acting is first-rate. The first five minutes alone will hook you for the entire season." Those thinking that it will be crap... i think will be surprised... sounds like it will be BETTER than the original.
For those of you interested, the first 8 mins of the pilot are up http://video.hollywoodreporter.com/services/player/bcpid43169542001?bctid=46077519001 Couldn't embedd for some reason.
