Essentially here I'm just combining all the info in various threads into one that is easy for everyone to read and find. Still need the Spurs need to decide between giving Reggie Miller or Derek Anderson. Any last minute changes to the list must be completed by around 6 Monday evening. The draft will be held in the CC.net chat Tuesday night at 9 pm Central, and picks will be posted in a draft thread with the order, etc. If you can't get to the chat but can get to the BBS, just follow the thread and pick when it is your turn. If you can't be there period, send me an email at SlamDuncan2121@yahoo.com with either a list of who to pick in order or a description of certain players or positions to pick in scenarios, etc. Special thanks to Heath and kbm for a lot of help in getting both of these lists done. CAT, I think the knicks are putting Buechler and Ward in the draft. Look at the roster/statistics thread: *Buechler-- 9.2 pts, 2.1 reb, 31 min *Ward-- 11.9 pts, 7.4 asst, 34 min ------------------ I am an invisible man.
Also one more note to add when considering players to draft, etc... since this season is technically considered 2001-02, zones and handchecks will be allowed for the upcoming seasons. ------------------ President of the Mo Taylor, Jason Collier, and draft Richard Jefferson fan club! I was thinking about this zone thing cat. How do we know when our teams going to try a zone? Like I mean I've got 4 centers on my roster. Could I decide to run a 2-3 zone with Bradley, Lafrentz, and McDyess against the bigger teams in the league? I just don't understand how this sim will run a zone. Seems really complicated... ------------------ [This message has been edited by Band Geek Mobster (edited April 29, 2001).]
Could I decide to run a 2-3 zone with Bradley, Lafrentz, and McDyess against the bigger teams in the league? Yeah, I can set your team defense if you let me know ahead of time. Usually the sim defense runs on auto-- so the computer would choose what it thinks the best times to run a zone would be. ------------------ President of the Mo Taylor, Jason Collier, and draft Richard Jefferson fan club! Tried compiling list of Top10 availavble by position. This list done in a hurry and not very much thought behind but would perhaps give you a general idea if you're drafting for position. The players is from the category Cat has listed them in the list over. If anyone feel the players can play another position not listed he will not be in the top 10 for that position. Ex Can Marc Jackson play PF. (I think he could produce but he is listed as true center and you will only find him in the center list.) Top10 Centers (True Center, Center/PF) 1. Ratliff 2. Camby 3. O'Neal J. 4. Ewing 5. Fortson 6. Olajuwon 7. Divac 8. Jackson 9. Mihm 0. Potapenko Top 10 Power Forwards (C/PF, PF, PF/SF) 1. Ratliff 2. Camby 3. Taylor 4. O'Neal J. 5. Fortson 6. Grant B 7. Mason 8. Croshere 9. Hill 0. Gatling Top10 Small Forwards (PF/SF, SF, Swingman) 1. Pippen 2. Kukoc 3. Jackson J 4. Rice 5. Mason 6. Croshere 7. Peterson 8. Szczerbiak 9. Thomas T. 0. Johnson D. Top10 Shooting Guards (Swingman, SG, Combo-guard) 1. Anderson D. 2. Jackson J. 3. Rice 4. Peterson 5. Szczerbiak 6. Wesley 7. Rider 8. Delk 9. Johnson D. 0. Hughes Top 10 Point Guards (Combo Guard, PG) 1. Stockton 2. Wesley 3. Snow 4. Ward 5. Best 6. Knight 7. Delk 8. Williams J 9. Hardaway T. 0. Sura I know plenty would disagree in this list - and I even know I would if I hda taken more time to study the stats - but it is a starting point. Remember that there are more players available and a player that di go as #11 in my list in a position could easily be a better draft pick than any of the obes in the list 3-5 position over #11. Players not in this list at any position (ex) is Pacers Harrington and others that could be good picks in the draft for your team. Edit: Added the new addition Derek Anderson to the Top10 list ------------------ Join the cc.net NBA sim The CC.net NBA Sim Rosters & Stats - Stat request & Stats - Trade discussions [This message has been edited by Heath2000 (edited April 30, 2001).]
This list is now final... since Spurs did not respond, he will put Derek Anderson in the draft as the 2nd player from his team. ------------------ President of the Mo Taylor, Jason Collier, and draft Richard Jefferson fan club! CAT, On next year, are we going to have to put two of our starters in a common draft again? I really think that idea is a bad one because GMs will find it hard to keep and develop younger talent. If I draft, say, Eddy Curry, then start him, I would find it hard not to put him in the draft when I have miller, Dirk, and predrag. To me, it is much better to just have a rookie draft after this season. ------------------ I am an invisible man.
Ok, I see them now. Thanks ------------------ Founder and President of the Houston Homers Club(HHC) - Are you a homer? Join now! The Rockets will be NBA champions. Believe.
KBM, Good point. Hadn't thought of that before. After this season, probably for just this one, we may not have the two starter draft... rookie draft should be good enough to move the balance of power a little for the 3rd season.
