Can anyone help me out with this? Need to make some work calls via Skype, and I need to record them as MP3s (or whatever) on my computer. Specifically, a mac. I just did a quick google search, but it's tough to weed out the reliable and non-virusey options. Anyone have anything they've used before and like?
http://www.pamela.biz/en/ I used to use Pamela Recorder when using Skype. I downloaded it directly from the Skype interface a few years ago, so it was safe. Haven't used the software in a while though.
Try this: Download and install Audacity (a popular free sound editing program). Double click on the volume icon in the system tray of your computer (next to the clock) In the "Master Volume" window that appears, pull down the Options menu and select "properties". Select the "Recording" radio button. (if it's grayed out, go the dropdown above that named "Mixer device" and select the "input" device). In the box below, make sure all of the boxes are checked and click okay. In the "recording control" uncheck the box next to "stereo mix". Run Audacity. In audacity, click the record button before you start your skype call. Audacity will record any sound that is generated by your computer and you can export it from audacity as an MP3. You might have to toy with the volume settings a bit. When you're through, put a check in that "mute" checkbox on the stereo mix.
