There's a decent transit system, depending on where you're staying exactly. You'll find that they aren't as car-dependent as we are. You may also need to employ some cabs once and awhile.

They have a train. Go to the Dachau concentration camp and the Hofbrauhaus (beer hall where Hitler used to hold meetings).

Go to Hofbrauhaus once. It is fun, and there will be a lot of folks there, probably. Then find some other more local beer halls. I don't know if it was seasonal or not, but they had a great market there, where you can buy some terrific food for fairly cheap. I remember gettings sausages with mustard, breads, and tasty deserts, for a very inexpensive price.

There is also a very nice wooded park there, but I can't remember the name of it.

Munich is awesome. Some of my best memories of Europe are there. Subway is good, markets are good, beer halls are awesome. I remember ordering a duck at one of them and it was like 6 bucks for this whole duck. It was awesome. Hofbrauhaus is pretty much a must, just go listen to the band and make friends with random travelers, Aussies are particularly friendly.

    An awful lot do!

"Wie Viel ist es" (Vee feel ist ess)
"Wo ist die Toilette" (Voo ist dee toy-let-tah)
    "Ich will' mehr wienerschnitzle"
    "Ich bin von Kanada"
You should be set with the above.

I live in Munich. Unfortunately, I will be traveling, so I cannot try and meet you. However, there is a very good site in English that should have a wealth of information for you:

    http://www.toytowngermany.com/munich/

Have to run, but if you have any more specific questions or interests, please post them here, and I will try to give advice.

Not seasonal, called Viktualienmarkt, worth a look.

Englischer Garten. It is larger than Central Park in NY.

Unfortunately, the weather is pretty ****ty in Munich right now.

I was in Munich a few years ago and we rented an automatic car. They aren't as common as manuals obviously, but they're not hard to find. We had a Mercedes SLK and it was surprisingly cheap. Look into it though and rent a car!

I looked at all the travel websites and also I am only 23 so cars like 7 series I can't rent due to age restrictions. I was suprised they rent out 7 series. Also my company is paying for everything so it would have been cool if I was a little older.

I don't know anything about munich so any places to go would be cool with me. I am up for doing anything. One thing I would like to see is the BMW factory.

I was there for one day like 8 summers ago. I did this thing called "Mike's Bike Tours". They tours started tours a couple of times a day next to the big glockenspiel.

Basically you bike around town, looking at the sights. Then at the halfway point, you stop at a bier garten, and kill as many beers as you can in like a 1/2 hrs time. Then you finish the bike tour.

needless to say, the second half of the tour was a bit more exciting.

    it was fun

Hofbrauhaus is fun, so are other beer halls. Munich is a great city (at least to visit). When I was there there was a huge festival and it was a lot of fun
