so took my freeride mountain bike for a spin at the state park, at night after it rained. yes its a stupid idea but comm'on, its a freeride bike, and i have been riding since i was 4, so i thought i could handle anything the mountain throws at me. well anyways, i was going downhill, clocked at 22 miles an hour, and hit this bump which i could not see. i felt the bump and tried to brake (hydrolic disc brakes, which have very nice stopping power), but lost the controls on my bike and the next thing i knew i was bleeding from my arms and knees. the first thing that went through my mind when i was on the floor was "f*ck, i hope i didnt mess up my ride" when i went over, the speedometer and light that i had installed on my bike was...for a lack of better word obliterated, the brake lever holders were scratched and worn down (its made from metal), the level gauges which tells you what gear you are on were also scratched, but the rest of bike were not even touched, what probably happend was i probably pulled the brake levers for the front wheel hard enough to cause the bike to flip over and rotate around the front wheel, which explains all the damages centered around the handle bar...regardless, no bike racing for me for at least a week.
You hadn't been taking shots of vodka before going out to ride, have you? - * * - This is actually a somewhat legitimate question to ask this poster
