The Italian Job and Netflix Suggestions Have you ever been really excited about a movie, only to have one single trailer absolutely kill any anticipation? Well, it's happened to me with this remake. What the hell are they doing putting "Mony Mony" by Billy Idol in there?? Ugh.
I might still watch this movie if only to see Jason Stateham and Mos Def. When I heard that Ed Norton only did this because he was under contract and not happy with the flick, my expectations dropped like the stock market. Michael Caine doesn't even have a cameo in this one yet he was in the Get Carter remake with Sly Stallone. Maybe I'll download this one.
A few of my friends at work saw an early screening of this movie about a month ago and they absolutley loved it. One of them said that after watching this movie, you would WANT to buy a Mini Coop, plus they said Seth Green was hilarious. I personally dont see why everybody doesnt want to see it. Last month, Maxim flammed it while mentioning the Ed Norton situation.
Did you really have to say that? Norton and Wahlberg were the only reason I thought this looked decent. That, and F. Gary Gray, but not so much after A Man Apart. Of course, the remake of Get Carter probably ranks in the top 10 of the worst movies I've ever seen.
I've had my MINI since mid feburary and it is by far the most fun car I've ever driven. Handles like a porsche but without the huge top end and price tag. The car is tight and well made, as well as quick and practicle (I fit 2 kids in the back seat in car seats daily). Most people i've talked to who test drive one end up owning one. As far as the Italian Job goes... I'm looking forward to the remake. I'm vp of the Houston MINI Motoring Society and we have aprox 20 MINI's making the drive to the Alamo Draft House in Austin for the premier on the 30th. Other MINI car clubs from Dallas, SA, and Austin will also be in attendance. The owner of the Draft house told me he is expecting close to 100 MINI's to be in attendance and we are plainng drives on the MINI roads outside Austin before and after the premier. Hope the move doesn't suck.
Thats all I needed to see to stay away from this bomb. I'm so jealous--- they look like little hot rods from the 60's.
