Well I just caught this movie last night with a couple friends and I was wondering if anyone else has seen it... Jennifer Aniston plays a 'neck that bangs a bunch of dudes... The ending's pretty strange and I could feel a collective "What the hell was that?" coming from everyone in the theater... One of my roommates claims that the signs in the store are all misspelt...I, however, did not notice this at all and I'm wondering if anyone else noticed this. The only strange thing I noticed in the film as far as props go, was that the Texas flag was upside down in the Bubba's bedroom. Anyway, I'm just wondering if any of you guys have seen this movie and what do you think of it... A couple other notes that have nothing to do with the topic... 1) Having a great time in Florida, the past 4 months here have flown by and I really don't look forward to going back home...(I might even just extend with the program, become a Florida resident, and go to school here without the burden of out of state tuition) 2) If anyone's in Orlando between now and January, drop by the Contemporary and look for Dave in one of the stores. 3) Da Cowboys suck. So long my brotha's from otha Motha's...
Glad to hear that you are doing well, BGM. The board misses you and so do the sim leagues. I hope everything continues to go well for you down in Florida.
Seen it, and kind of liked it! You could feel the audience twitching at some of the parts...I think some of them were expecting a chick flick. With all the predictable movies released these days, it's always great to see something totally UNpredictable. I had no idea where the movie was going, and it's got good performances to boot! I recommend it...especially to those who like dark comedies.
I guess it was unpredictable in the sense that it wasn't a stupid ass flick...but come on, I predicted every part of that movie waaayyyy before it happened. The girl I saw it with thought it was so-so. It's not a bad movie...nothing special though. Things you should see coming while watching the movie: **************SPOILERS************************** 1) The friend saying sleep with me or I'll tell. 2) The relationship between Jen and the boy. 3) Her realizing he's just a stupid boy. 4) The boy jacking the cash (oh that was sooo obvious that it was going to happen) 5) Her getting caught through the credit card receipt. 6) The infertility (saw that from a mile away) 7) Her choosing to narc (you could tell the movie was not going to take some dumbass leap of faith into the unknown...it didn't fit in with how her character was evolving...if the end occured in the middle, then she wouldn't narc, but Jennifer Aniston's character already changed beyond that phase ....soo the movie really was predictable, but not bad, but not great. Keep on having fun, BGM.
to #2 --- I will soooo do that!! I'm coming to D-World Oct. 5-11 with my wife, son and my parents...which store are you in??? #3 -- no kidding! isn't it great??
Kim, you may want to put *******SPOILERS******** in your post, some of us haven't seen this movie yet.
****************SPOILERZZZZZZZ!!!!!!!******************* I disagree. The movie as a whole, was definitely not what I was expecting. As it went a long, yes, you could predict some of the major plot points that you mentioned. But you're kind of talking about high level, general things happened in the movie...I'm talking about the movies details, the way things happened, the things the movie showed, the dialouge between the characters, etc... These are not things that happen in your typical movie. 1.) A disgustingly grotesque Tim Blake Nelson humping Jennifer Aniston while shouting at the top of his lungs "Shut Up Bessy!" to his barking dog...on a side note: another thing I didn't expect was seeing Tim Nelson's schlong. 2.) Jennifer Aniston considering killing the boy by feeding him poisonous berries. 3.) Her husband having to fondle her breasts while he masturbates at the fertiltiy clinic. These were just a few of the uneasy scenes in the movie that wouldn't happen in a typical hollywood film. Sure, the plot was kind of predictable, but this wasn't some crime caper. The plot was really pretty unimportant in the movie.
