    I recall it was for the Rockets 2012 pick, but with lotto protection.

    how long does that protection last?

    It's lottery protected until 2016.

    And if the Nets don't get a 1st round pick by then, they receive Houston's 2017 second round pick and cash.

    It's our pick. And the lottery protection stays forever. So no, Morey has no chance to look like Isiah 4 years down the road.
