I actually like the current staff and think they do a good job. I also don't think that HOU will make a coaching change now. They usually allow the coach to finish his contract. Have done so with both JVG and Adelman.
You gotta wonder if Stan thinks there's a chance Dwight comes to Houston and McHale is shown the door that he might be a tempting target for Les and Morey.
Generally agree, and I think there's a low probability that he's fired. It wouldn't seem right to do if he takes this team to the playoffs. Probably it would take him resigning for personal reasons.
I respect SVG as a coach but at Orlando he ran his mouth way too much. Then he broke the camel's back by throwing both Dwight and the Magic under the bus. Can he be trusted?

Perhaps more relevant: Les Alexander doesn't seem to like it when a coach (in particular one with the last name Van Gundy) runs his mouth about the front office.
It would be kind of sad if we ended up hiring SVG in the future. JVG wanted to come back and coach this team for the longest time and we ended up hiring his brother instead.
The van Gundy brothers are the coolest people in the game. They really just want to give their star players the best chance to win....and that includes 16-hour days coaching and video preparation. They don't have egos.
Are there any sources for this? Weren't there rumors that the Rockets were grooming Chris Finch to be the next head coach?

Morey referred to SVG as one of the all-time best coaches in an interview on the Dan LeBatard show a month or so back. And SVG is generally very highly regarded by analytic-types.
Well to be honest I'd love to have SVG on board. Mchale's ok, but SVG is so far ahead of him it's ridiculous. Plus if we got him maybe we can convince Jeff to go consulting for us as well. It would be awesome, with $analytics and the Gundy bros' work ethic we'd always have the best prepared team in the league.
