    He just keeps going and going and going....

    Not only did this guy just turn ninety-freakin'-eight years old, but he has been a Senator for, get this, 46 years.

    What brought me to this knowledge was something I read in the paper stating that Thurmond holds the record for the longest filibuster in Senate history.

    In 1957, Thurmond spent 24 hours and 18 minutes speaking out against civil rights.

    To re-phrase a popular Dennis Miller joke:

    "Strom Thurmond is 98 years old and he makes laws for our country. My grandfather is 98 years old and we won't even let him use the remote control for the television." [​IMG]

    I think a more valid comparison would be between Thurmond and Nosferatu, or any blood-sucking member of the undead you can think of.
