    It seems cops have been out recently looking for expired ones :(

    No, you can get your car inspected in any county but if you are registered in an emissions county, you must get your car inspected in an emissions county because the other counties won't have the testing equipment.

    false, but you do have to buy your registration sticker in the county your vehicle is registered under.

    Some places send coupons with $3 or $5 or more off the cost.
    Check online for some coupons to mechanic shops by you.

    It's rare for it to be less than the set price because the facility has to pay most of that money back to the state. Most places that do inspections don't make money on them.

    You can get your vehicle registered if you have no prior registration but it must be registered in the county where you purchased it. :p

    There's a place out in Katy right off 1093 before Spring Green that always has a $5 off coupon.

    Where did you hear that? Stations make $25.50 for every $40 inspection. For the $14.50 inspections, they make about $7.
