With Rasheed Wallace off the market, the Spurs are expected to offer Glenn Davis their mid-level exception.

Gary Tanguay of Comcast SportsNet New England does not believe that Boston would match the offer, especially with Grant Hill a strong possibility in Boston.

I heard it's pretty much a done deal. Man, it's been a strong offseason for the Spurs. Jefferson and now Davis? Not to shabby, and it's still early in the summer.

Rockets can still make some moves that will make them contenders if all goes well. I still have faith that the team will.

Big Baby is going to make full MLE money.

I thought we were in a depression.

Not a good move by the Spurs. This will bite them if they do it. If Big Baby cried after getting chewed out one time by KG, there will be a flood in San Antonio.

Are the first few posters being serious? Glen Davis isn't worth nearly that much.

Remember, Morey signed Landry at $8 Million over 3 years. That's half the cost that Big Baby would be. If people are praising the Spurs for that move, then it solidifies how much a badass Morey is.

i think he'll fit perfectly on the Spurs, Tim Duncan will mentor him well.

No, I don't think he's ever going to be an All Star PF in this league or anything.

But I think he's a great piece to add to the Spurs. As long as that core is together, I think he fits in well...and I think he's a solid sub for those periods where Duncan goes down for a couple of weeks at a time...or just to give Duncan a bit more rest than he's had in previous years.

I think he's worth the combined salaries of Oberto and Kurt Thomas considering how much older those guys are. He actually costs less than they do (though I realize they added Jefferson to the payroll also)

Landry had a big question mark with his knee that offseason. Morey used it to his advantage certainly, but I think without that injury, Landry would have commanded much more.

The Cavs are top 3. Made it to the ECF without a legit center, and they now have shaq, who is a little more than just serviceable.

    1. Boston
    2. Spurs (if timmy is still game and ginobli is full strength, then i might say #1)
    3. Cleveland/ LAL
    5. Denver

Maybe it's overpaying and maybe in 3 years this contract will look downright silly but this is the right move for Spurs to be able to squeeze out 1 or 2 more titles before Duncan is finished. I'd say with the additions of Jefferson, Davis and Blair, if Duncan/Ginobli can stay healthy (it is a major if) the Spurs have to be the favorites next year.

If I was a spurs fan I would be wholeheartedly supporting this move. The window isn't open forever. You got to take your chances when you can.
