    Exactly what is an over the back foul. I was never quite sure what it is and would like to know.

    When a defender essentially reaches over or "climbs the back" of the player in position for a rebound, it's an over the back foul. It's designed to prevent a player with good position for a rebound from having that obstructed by a player going over him to get the rebound. Not always called, but is one of those things that some officials will call and others won't.
