LOL @ the Knicks! They are doing the exact same thing they have done the past 10 years. Overpay for players not worth the max. Amare isn't worth close to $100 million. Now no Wade, no Bosh, they won't get LeBron. Their plan has failed! So now they will go and overpay for another mediocre guy out of desperation.

My only concern is they might be so bad they might actually get the #1 pick in the draft!

And so what about Bosh. Now we can focus on re-signing Scola and our PF position is set with Scola, Hill, Patterson. Sign Brad Milller as Yao insurance, then wait until February to see where our team is and make a big move then if need be. Thanks to the Knicks we have tons of valuable trade bait!

Nah, they will get better, probably sign a 2nd tier wing to pair with Amare, and maybe Felton at the point.

That makes them a lot better, probably a lower seeded playoff team.

They didn't get the big one, but they will get better.

Unless Miller accepts the minimum, or close to it, I wouldn't even sign him. Let's just go with what we've got and see what happens at the trade deadline.

knicks have a one in three shot at signing lebron as i see it, chicago and cleavland being the other 2 shots. now that wade has his big, lebron who wanted amare to be a part of the cavs last year could easily join him in new york.

if ny gets lebron then we will lose value in the picks. So far NY has just replaced the same players. STAT for lee. Maybe felton for duhon.

The only way LeBron goes to New York is if he thinks Carmelo will go there next year. They're worse than the Heat. Either staying in Cleveland or going to Chicago (or coming to Houston ) makes much more sense.

Adrian Wojo says Cleveland or Miami...NY is a LONNNNGGGGGSSHHHOOOTTT

Knicks will be a 40 win team with some upgrades but that still should get us a lotto pick...I'll take it.

it's a little too early to celebrate. If they pair someone else halfway decent with amare, that team could be a borderline playoff team in the east.

They will not be a playoff team next year even if they luck up and sign Ray Allen and bring in Raymond Felton. Book it.

    The Knicks are trash.

    let's see...

    CLE (if bron goes back)
    BOS
    ORL
    MIA
    ATL
    MIL
    CHI
    CHA

NY will probably be fighting for 7-8.

The east is becoming significantly better this offseason.

Bucks and Bobcats will squeeze the Knicks out of any spot.

i interperet your post to mean significantly better than last season and not just a couple of games on the plus in the the win column.

if i am accurate in this, tell me why?

I honestly think the ability to trade next years first is becoming highly valuable.

the nix struck out and ended up overpaying a declining player with injury problems that was a marginal upgrade from a player already on their roster.

they are going to have major turnover on the roster and there will be a difficult adjustment period.

all indications are that they still want to maintain salary flexibility for next years fa's (read - they won't sign and solid roleplayers that could potentially benefit them)

amare is pumping up luke freakin ridnour for their point guard

and don't forget... the jury is still way way way out on d'antoni. he didn't get along with amare last time and has only had success with steve nash as his point guard. to me, his schtick is getting old quick and this is the season he will get ran out of ny.

Counting on the East being better:

    Orlando
    Cleveland - James
    Boston
    Chicago
    Miami
    Milwaukee
    Atlanta
    Charlotte

Dont sleep on the Nets either if they can pull off the right move in the next few days...Knicks are 10th right now.

it's down to lebron or role players.

i'm not convinced that amare and a bunch of role players can make the playoffs. it would be the suns with felton or ridnaur instead of nash.
