As usual, this show brings out certain emotions.

Tonight, I felt angry. Not at that dwarf of a man, but at David. For goodness sakes David, FIGHT BACK. I kept saying, ok now is where he's had enough and will fight back. At the very least, run away, if he shoots at you, he may or may not hit you. I can only assume that the keys were removed from the van when the assailant exited the van first to remove the dead body. Or how about you stomp the dwarf and take his gun when you have him cold-cocked on the ground.

Yeah I guess the whole thing was supposed to accentuate David as voluntary victim/wuss etc.

That was one of the more disturbing episodes of the show.

Just wanted to add that the assailant was a very well written and/or well executed role.

His fluctuations in behavior keep you on edge wondering what's he going to do next.

So what's next for David? Panic attacks, further submission into being a victim, sexual hangups?

I don't know, it's going to be hard to sort of go back to reality next week follow that while following the rest of the self-involved dysfunctionalism of everybody else simulaneously, and it especially makes that submisssive dude look like a tool

i just watched the ep and that freaked me out.
I was gonna start a post about picking up hitchhikers.
I've done it two or three times but luckily no horror stories.

Yeah it looked like David had several chances of escape but when you're in that situation i'm sure it's hard to think clearly. Still I think it was an Excellent emmy-worthy performance by Michael C. Hall who has been overshadowed by Peter Krause the past couple of seasons.

That was the strangest episode of Six Feet Under I have ever seen. I walked away with the following points:

--I have never picked up a hitchiker, and now I know I never will for as long as I live. This whole incident will have an adverse effect on David and Keith's relationship, because Keith will not be able to provide the emotional support David is going to need after something like this.

--Brenda's mom is a serious nutcase. I wouldn't want to be within 100 feet of her.

--Rico is going to get into some serious crap with that stripper, now that she showed up at his place of work. He should have walked her outside and said "that's it...lose my number". Unfortunately it looks like he is thinking with his little head.

--Nate will try to kill himself before the end of the season. I feel it coming.

Other than the blowjob, has Rico even got any off of her?

They are starting to make Ruth out to be a dumbass and I think they are going over the top. Trying to hook up George's son. What sane person would try to fix that nut case up with anyone?

I also was angry a tonights episode at both David and the assailant.

Rico's problem isn't he was thinking with his little head, its that he feels sorry for the stripper. He doesn't have the the heart to cut it off.

I don't think they are making Ruth out as stupid at all. She always tries to fix things. It's her nature to meddle.

I really liked how the this particular episode told the story in a different way. When Nate was talking about Lisa and the fire alarm went off it was already night time. It then flashed back in time to David in the afternoon and it never left him the rest of the episode. This show always jumps from story to story and I thought it was an interesting choice to stick with David the rest of the show and then no music for credits.

hey weren't you the one who said the show lost credibilty with you last year when it looked like Rico got the free bj from the stripper? maybe the writers read your post :)

the stripper is played by Idalis, who used to be an MTV vj back in the mid 90's.

I used to have a thing for her back in the day, and I've never been a big MTV viewer. Anybody else notice how hot they made her look when she and Rico first met, and now she just looks way to skanky. It adds to the effect of the mess Rico has gotten himself into.
