not stop at a stop sign?

and since when did it become ok to turn from your lane instead of the "turn lane" (middle lane between the yellow lines for turning, you know, you get in that lane to turn!?)

just wondering if anyone knew when all this became common driving etiquette?

that has been the norm for years in austin!

i truthfully and habitually practice both... including running red lights (which you forgot to mention)...

    just being honest... :)

No offense, but you're a f~cking idiot then. Rolling stop signs ain't a big deal, but sh~t man, don't run red lights. I've come real close to getting killed twice by careless jerk-offs (t-boned by a guy running a light & clipped by a guy repeatedly changing lanes on the freeway), is it that difficult to use a little common courtesy & be safe when you're driving?

    But at least you're honest.

Just be aware that a lot of Houston drivers practice red + three. Once the light turns red you can expect three more cars to come through. ;)

ohmygawd, tell me about it. One of the worst intersections for red +3 is Shepherd and Fairview. I drive that way every afternoon and the idiots on Shepherd zip through that red light like it's green! It absolutely amazes me. I look both ways before moving forward when the light turns red in that intersection. I practice that it in a lot of other places too! There are some lights here in Houston that immediately change when the other lights turn red, immediately, no delay, those are the really dangerous red +3 intersections. scary....

well i don't see many red + 3's when i'm driving except in two cases.

left turns - if its a left turn that everyone knows is short and is always backed up, expect a minimum of 2 cars to go through it. i swear, you find yourself getting mad at someone if they are the first one after red and you're right behind them and they don't go. because you've already decided that you are running it if they go and when they don't it really pisses you off. but this is on 1960 usually so its not like you are pulling out if front of oncoming traffic. the other lights are packed with people at a complete stop.

getting to school out of my neighborhood - now you really could see 3 cars after a red light on many occasions and i've definitely been car #3 sometimes. its way too damn short of a green light and i was usually way too late to school to not go through. it really sucked also cuz school buses sometimes would be turning left in front of our lane and sometimes they went after red and would take up some of our green so really we had no choice but to run the red to make up for the time.

i'm not much of a stop sign roller-througher cuz i'm just waiting for the day a cop hiding on a driveway decides he needs to write an extra ticket.
