Should the Rockets activate Mo taylor so he can sit out his 5 game suspension right now and place Cat on the Ir to give the man some rest?.
    People's opinions welcomed

Why wait till next season for mo to be suspended.
Lets get it over with now.

Spirit of the rule comes to mind... Plus why risk an injury that would set him back even further?

Absolutely Not! We can't risk a reinjury to Mo like B said.

He doesn't have to play. Just activate him. We can do another Charles Barkley.

If we activate him and don't play him, what does that say about our team philosophy? That it's okay to do something stupid where you get a 5 game suspension, we'll find a way to work around it since you are injured? I have no problem if we actually play him for 3-5 games this season, and try something new. But if we aren't going to play him, or if we do just a minute, then I don't think that's a good idea. The Rockets org acts as if they are very big on doing the right thing, and trying to manipulate the suspension time sends a bad message. But hey, it's not my call, that's just how I feel about it.

The right thing is to have our players ready from day one. Forget the right thing, it is the smart thing. Very similar to a company "bagging" revenues for a future quarter when they have already met their expectations. It happens all the time in the corporate world. Is it the right thing, probably not but the Rudy and CD better figure out a way to take this team to the playoffs because they are running out of excuses.

That would be highly unethical to do. Just let Maurice Taylor sit out his supension next year. The front office would get pissed as us. They would probably take out some ping pong balls and drop us in the lottery.

It isn't really a question of ethics so much as it is a question of what the league would allow. We bring back Taylor with only a few games left and he doesn't play, I can guarantee the league will crack down on the Rockets big time. My guess would be a massive fine and very likely more games without Taylor.

He would have to be fully recovered (which he isn't) and able to play and, even then, it would be highly suspicious to do it this year. He'll just have to miss the first 5 games next season.

All he has to do is get into one game and the league can't to anything about it. I say activate him with 7 games remaining. Let him sit out his 5 game suspension and then play the last minute of a game. Similar to what we did with Barkley. They suspended Mo while he was on the injured list so why can't we activate him while he is hurt. Why is it right to put someone on the injured list when they are not hurt? Just so that the team can keep a player from joining another. Isn't that a little dishonest. These kind of things happen all the time and David Stern cannot do anything about it.

    B- totally disagree with you.

Rockets are already on NBA/David Stern's s*** list. Witness Steve's selection to so many teams, witness Houstons getting the All Star Game. Witness our growing game attendance.

Even if activating him for the purpose;) of sitting out his 5 games might be technically "legal," the Rockets would feel that wrath of David Stern in too many ways to count.

By the way, Mo isn't ready to play yet even if they decided to bring him back. He still is unable to practice with the team and go close to full speed. He would have to be at full strength for them to even consider bringing him back this year and he's not close to that yet.

I could've sworn that a few months ago I heard Mo would be back after the all-star break.

HE said he thought he could be back by then. The doctors did not agree.

    Nah,

5 games is not that big of a deal, and it would be better for him to have the extra time to heal.

Let's just continue to tank our way through the duration of this year and get Mo back healthy at the start of next year.

    Better safe then sorry.
