    I've had several people comment on how they find the celebrity emoticons I use to be rather annoying but likewise, I've also had several others mention that they enjoy and find them to be funny.

    I figured why not put everything on the table and come to a conclusion as I'll gladly roll with majority vote to either ban my emoticons or continue using them sparingly.

    As for my case:
    I honestly don't see how anyone could find them "annoying".
    They aren't huge, taking up peoples screens. I hardly ever use more than one or two per post. Someone in another thread compared them to the poster here who would only leave posts in italics. Something I could see becoming annoying, especially if it's straining your eyes while reading - but these tiny emoticons don't interfere with the text. They just compliment them. And I use them because they capsulate so much of what I'm feeling during each particular post. Sometimes better than I can explain in words.

    So to the jury of CF, I ask of you to not see this as a posting hinderance - but rather a posting enhancement. Just another tool used to further express oneself through the vast collection of emotional faces one can't enjoy while separated by computer screen. I may have gone overboard on the number of smilies used in one post before - but I have since then grown. Grown to understand that these smilies only hold the weight of emotion only without over abundance.

    Plus, since no one else uses them, I feel it adds more character to me as a poster of this fine fine community. (Although everyone else is free to use them however they desire)

    I leave you all with different examples of said emoticons for you to review and conjure up a decision. Thank you for your time.

    Dude who gives a ****? Do whatever you want. It's pretty stupid if someone needs to criticize a person over their use of emoticons...

    Even Swoly isn't annoying because of the emoticons.

    People that see them annoying are just uptight, which i've noticed on this site but I enjoy them.

    Here's the thing: when I look at this board, one of the things I love about it is the clean interface. Nobody trashing the place up with ridiculous avatars and absurdly huge sigs. I don't like opening the door, even slightly, for people to turn this board into something like lakersground or that kind of garbage. I like to think we're better than that.

    So I say dump 'em. Keep the BBS uncluttered.
