I am just curious to see what others' take on this is

I have some friends who love to go see classic or their favorites in the theater

Like tonight there is a theater nearby that will have a midnight screening of Dazed and Confused and there is another that is playing Pulp Fiction.

Tomorrow I will be going to see Monty Python and the Holy Grail and the same theater next week will be playing Jurassic Park

I have other friends who think its a waste of money regardless of what movie is being played if its on dvd/blu-ray and can be watched at home they will prefer to do that than go see it at a theater.

There are plenty of classic movies I wish I was able to see in the theater that I couldn't see when they first came out so if I ever see these playing I go see them.

    What about you guys?

Going to watch Jaws IN Lake Travis in a few weeks. Alamo Drafthouse is sponsoring it. It was supposed to be on July 4th weekend but was canceled due to weather.

Some movies need to be seen on the big screen.

I took my son to see Monty Python and the Holy Grail at the Paramount in Austin a couple of years ago and it was great seeing it on the big screen.

I love doing stuff like that.

We have gone to the Paramount theater in Austin to see some classics....even going to do the sing along Grease movie.

    ;)

Lots of stuff shot in 2:35-1 or bigger is way better on the big screen.

    Blade Runner
    Aliens
    2001 Space Odyssey
Star Wars(New Hope and Empire Strike Back)
Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark
    Enter The Dragon
    and some Ray Harryhausen's movies

Never saw these in theaters but I would gladly give my money to see it on the big screen.

When I went to UT, my friends and I used to go to the Alamo Drafthouse in downtown all the time to watch old movies.

Plus they were usually dirt cheap or free.

Absolutely. The Paramount Theatre in Austin has a summer festival of flicks from the past that have been remastered and look beautiful. Sitting at home in a dark room with surround sound doesn't approach being in a good theatre and watching the same thing on the big screen. It simply isn't the same. It is better.

If I owned the movie I'm not sure I would go, but I always prefer movies in a theatre.

Depends purely on cost. They show old movies for $1 some places, which is cool. One place even has $1 movie, $1 pizza, & $1 beer. You can't beat that.

I wish I could see a movie like The Matrix on the big screen which I never did when I was younger. But I guess the awesome part would be seeing it on the big screen for the very first time not knowing what to expect.

No doubt, If the price is right I'd love to see classics on the big screen.

Tip: Don't make a website centered around reviewing terrible movies and then review a bunch of movies that range from mediocre to good.

i would personally, if I knew it was going to be a packed theater, going to watch it by yourself, might as well just watch it a home.

if it was something like those theaters you mentioned, a different movie every weekend, that would be sweet
