Riddled with spelling and gramatical errors, I give you Red Rowdies praise. Last night, I really felt like the only reason we kept going was because of leviathan that is the Houston Rockets crowd. At the belly of the beast a fire is purged with a hot flash of red, you Red Rowdies are the fire within the soul of every Rockets fan. Thank you.

If they could only help the Rocket's players shoot better.

Did the "We Want Steve" chants come from the Rowdies? If so, they are morons and should be ashamed of themselves.

It's OK to root for a particular player, but there is a time for that. You don't chant the name of a DNP-CD to distract the players (especially those who are taking Steve's minutes) who are fighting for the team on the court in a nail-biting game at most critical time against a tough opponent. You do that ONLY when the game is out of reach one way or the other.

Thats true, I chanted it in the first home game, but not last night. It was not time for that, we should cheer for the players who are actually playing and keep them going at all times. Chanting for Steve in a close game like this was really stupid. I am a huge Steve Francis fan and I cannot wait for him to play, and it pisses me off that he is not playing. But cmon fans, lets keep our mind on the game, especially in close situations.

    AMEN!

I was going to make a thread about it but I don't want to insult the fans that pay good money to watch the game. Still it doesn't take away the fact that it was the worst time to do the "WE WANT STEVE" chant...

I turned it to the FSN feed for a little while and caught Bill and Clyde commenting on andymoon's costume. Funny stuff.

Ditto on the Stevie chants. At the time the PLAYERS ON THE COURT were gutting out a pretty good comeback run. It's demoralizing to suddenly hear the crowd cheer for someone to replace them when they were doing pretty well. Idiots.

For the record, not a SINGLE rowdy joined in that chant. How freaking stupid. Why would you want to put in a player that hasn't played 1 minute yet this season when it's a tied game with 5 minutes left. How r****ded was that?

Anyway, thanks for the praise. We're trying to get better each game.

If anybody ever has good ideas for chants, we're always looking for fresh ideas.

Whats worse, cheering on a guy or saying "Yao is horrible" ?
Both are kind of unsupportive to the team...

Thanks for the clarification, krosfyah. As one of the leaders of Redrowdies, your words are reassuring. Keep up the good work.

My resentment towards those idiot fans stands.

It depends on the circumstance. Venting frustration after a disappointing loss is not necessarily unsupportive.

Just curious. Are the Rowdies under any obligation to censor their chants? I mean if a Rowdy wanted to chant "We want Steve!" could they?

Good to hear, I was more than a little annoyed that that chant started at that point the game.

I want to see how SF3 can help this team but that was just a silly time to start a chant

What about if we said "someone else" was horrible? :p That's probably better than cheering on Steve if you ask me, because at least you leave open the possibility to cheer on Brooks!

I'd have some respect for the Rowdies had they joined the we want steve chant because the Rockets could have won last night if James and Alston weren't stinking up the joint.

The fans have every right to demand that Steve plays.

    That's stupid.

    1. Steve isn't going to play period.
    2. Chanting in a close game only creates a distraction to the point guards playing. It does not help your team in any way. It actually hurts the team.
    3. I highly doubt that chanting SF's name is going to improve Rafer and James play.
    4. There are much much better chants in a close game where your team is trying to mount a comeback.
