As it lines up, I see us winning a ton of games in the regular season. (60ish) Still think we need another long and athletic 3/4 swing man, in general, but especially during the playoffs. James & Russ should have a wonderful synergistic effect ....really a thing to behold. I'm excited. Also, Russ will likely play most of the season. (vs CP3) CC ups his numbers again. Russ is more efficient. Russ is a much better defensive player than many give him credit for. Lots of shooters now. We can control pace...and win either way. DM gets whatever else we need. Confidence is high.
I think they need a 4 swingman. Slightly different than a 3/4 swingman, in that a 4 swingman could potentially play 5, or 3 selectively. But the ability to play up to 5 is more important than the ability to play 3, imo. Why? Because SF can already be manned by House, Tucker (never does, but can and should if they had an actual PF), Harden/Gordon, Green, Thabo. As it stands, when I think about PF... it's basically PJ Tucker.... who is undersized to begin with. All three of their centers are ONLY centers. If Hartenstein was actually good and could hit 35% of his threes (he was at 33% last year but only on 6 shots, lol), this could be him. This is the clear weakness on this team...
Would like to see either Clark or Blossomgame step up a notch or 5 to fill that role. Need infusion of youth and energy for this very mature ... uh, veteran...team.
