Thought this deserved another post. First of all, I love ya Jeff, but you're outta touch here. Hooters girls, strippers, are PROBABLY GETTING ON AIR WITH EVERYONE BECAUSE, I DUNNO, THEY THINK THEIR BREASTS AND PERSONALITY MIGHT LEAD THEM TO THE BIG TIME!" I'm not saying I agree. But to denegrate the females that try it is like trying to denegrate anyone who tries to make that "big leap" into whatever they want to do. It's not necessarily right, or wrong. BUT DAMNIT! IT'S FUN!
Funny you mentioned this Fatty Fat Fat. We're throwing a keg party tomorrow night in Austin. One of my friends is dating a Hooters girl and she's coming up from Houston and bringing like 3 or 4 of her co-workers. We'll see how this goes Anyways, if you listen to Howard Stern at all, he's always got strippers and p*rn stars on because they're such sluts and us guys always want to hear some dirty stories.
I can't stand howard stern shows. Sex talk gets old quick. Personally, i'd rather experince then hear someone elses stories. Usually, hooter girls aren't all that great. Depends on the area I guess.
First off, I wasn't attempting to dengrate "Hooter girls." What they want to do with their time and God (or doctor) given assets is none of my business. Same goes for strippers. My point wasn't about the women as much as it was about the manager who was on with them. I found it terribly ironic that he would demand respect for his employees when the structure of his company is such that they don't respect them in the first place. It would be like saying he didn't want fishermen in his seafood restaurant because they like to kill fish. The women who work there are free to do what they choose. It's a free country. Let me say that I have been to Hooter's a total of ONCE when I was 19 on a lark with a friend. I found the food to be pretty awful. The women were mostly attractive but so are the women on any college campus or in the bookstore or wherever. Didn't seem worth all that money for over-cooked food. Also, I have been to a total of three strip clubs all on the same night (my boss' bachelor party) when I was twenty. I found myself most attracted to several waitresses rather than the strippers and one happened to go to UH so I probably could have seen her around campus just as easily. I knew a lot of strippers when I worked in a music store because they were the girlfriends of so many of the musicians I knew. There is a reason why they used to not let people with hair past their collar in the nicer strip clubs - the girls liked them and would dance for free. I actually had many strippers come in the store after going to the tanning salon down the way from us and, I swear, have us check out their new breast implants. Some, amazingly, wanted us to feel them for "authenticity." Unreal. (Tough job, eh. ) I have no problem with women who want to dance or the people who pay them. I have no moral objection to what people choose to do with their bodies. What I have a problem with is the culture and business atmosphere that not only encourages it but promotes it. For example, prostitutes aren't a problem for me. Pimps (no offense Rocket Pimp ) and the society that ostracizes these women are. --- climbs down of soap box ---
Funny that I get to reply so soon! I remember one of the times I went to Hooters on Gessner(ask for Trisha ) and couldn't decide what I wanted to eat, so I asked the waitress what was good. Her response, with a big smile was "We're not exactly known for our food" That statement pretty much sums up Hooters.
Jeff: One quick note here. Whether or not they let people with hair past their collars is completely irrelevant, and your reasoning is inaccurate. The dancers could dance for free all night long, and the managers could care less. They (this part is Unbelievable!) get the dancers to pay them $40 bucks to get in each night, plus the incredible overcharges on drinks, and the $10 cover charge for us to get in. The dancers don't have to "pay out" any of their tip money. Which is why they pay $40 bucks initially. (I know this is a really stupid post, but it is a quick FYI on how dancers get paid)
It isn't that so much as dancers will hang out with some guys all night and not pressue them to drink more which is what clubs want. On the night of my boss' bachelor party, there was one place where a girl hung out with all us longhaired guys (she LOVED long hair) and didn't once ask for money or to get us to buy her drinks or anything. Towards the end of the time we were there, she said that her manager had given her a hard time for hanging out with us all night but she didn't care because she liked us. THAT's what I meant.
Simple fact of life: Hooters without beer = ghost town. The waitresses are cute. If you have to sit there and listen to any one of them cold sober for more than 92 seconds, ouch. Hell, that goes for strip clubs too.
